Dream Street Camp: A Place Where Every Child Thrives

At Camp Dream Street, magic happens every summer. This five-day, overnight camp is specifically designed for children with physical disabilities, offering a safe and joyful environment where kids can simply be kids. From playing games to making lifelong friends, Dream Street is a place where barriers are broken, independence is fostered, and smiles abound.

In 2024, Dream Street made an exciting addition to its resources: two custom Shell Seating Systems from Testa-Seat. These adaptive seats were introduced to ensure that every child could experience the freedom of independent seating, even in the pool. Their lightweight, easy-to-clean, and versatile design allowed campers to participate in aquatic activities with postural independence, building confidence while having fun.

One of the camp organizers shared, “The Testa-Seats provided our kiddos with the independence they needed to just be kids, doing awesome kid stuff at camp. Whether in the pool or sitting on the floor, the seats made a huge difference in their ability to participate fully in camp activities.”

Dream Street’s dedication to creating an inclusive experience is truly inspiring. Founded in 1975, the camp’s mission has always been to provide children of all abilities the opportunity to have fun, build friendships, and grow through group life experiences. Held at URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp in Utica, MS, Dream Street is completely free for campers, ensuring every child has the chance to attend.
